Fall Leaves with Canon TS-E 45mm Tilt and Shift Lens

Almost every morning I go outside to my backyard or garden with an iPad and shoot some pictures to share with my family. If weather is bad I stay on my patio deck. Here is a gallery of these backyard snapshots on facebook. Sometimes, I take outside my “big” camera, Canon 5D Mark II and have even more fun.

Recently, I shot some foliage background using Canon TS-E 45mm Tilt and Shift Lens at a low angle. I had mostly leaves from my maple and Asian pear trees, and some poplar leaves imported from neighborhood. The pictures below illustrate the effect of the TS lens tiled down to the ground surface to increase the depth of field and tilted up for a selective focus. The camera was mounted on a tripod. Its position didn’t changed between the last two pictures.
